Warsh's Long End Reprices Every Asset

The week belonged to the long end of the US Treasury curve. Warsh's first hike since 2023, a 30-year yield at 5.501% for the first time since June 2004 and a 10-year at 5.223% last seen in June 2007 were not separate bond stories; they reset the discount rate for equities, credit and currencies. Oil and diesel kept the inflation bid alive through Hormuz, while AI capex and the Xi visit offered narrow offsets. By Friday the 20-year traded above the 30-year, a term-premium warning. The consequence is that every equity multiple is now hostage to whether the long end stabilizes or oil reopens the inflation trade.
